Zusammenfassung:	The central role of calcium in the sequence of myocardial excitation-contraction coupling and myocardial relaxation has been well established over the last 15 years. However, observations of congestive heart failure in hypocalcemic patients are rather rare. The authors report one case in which they were able to study the degree of improvement of hemodynamic status after sole normalization of the calcemia in a profound chronic hypocalcemic patient.
