Zusammenfassung:We have compared two ways of determining cross-sectional muscle area in patients undergoing total parenteral nutrition, namely, computerised tomography and anthropometric measurements. There was a poor correlation between the two methods of determining cross-sectional limb area. The cross-sectional area inceased in all patients considered on clinical grounds to have improved during the course of treatment.
