Zusammenfassung:	A large number of tests are available for the detection of anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgM in cord blood following fetal infection with Toxoplasma gondii . Enzyme immunoassays (EIA) have undergone modifications to improve their sensitivity. Since the background interference in EIAs increases with the age of the patient, we have established a new cut-off value for the detection of anti-Toxoplasma gondii IgM antibodies in cord serum by means of EIA.
