Zusammenfassung: | We have constructed a large-insert yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) library of the mouse genome to serve as a resource for the mammalian genetics community. The new library is intended to supplement the three mouse YAC libraries that have been previously described: a library with 2.2-fold coverage in clones of average size 265 kb; a library with 3.5-fold coverage in clones of average size 240 kb; and a library with 3-fold coverage in clones of average size 700 kb. Our new YAC library provides a total of 4.3-fold coverage in two parts: part A provides 0.7-fold coverage in clones of average size 480 kb, and part B provides 3.6-fold coverage in clones of average size 680 kb. Together, the four available libraries now provide 13-fold coverage of the mouse genome in YAC clones. |
