Child Poverty Has a Long-Term Effect. On Its Extent and Causes in Developing Countries

The extent and causes of child poverty have been in the recent strategic development literature at best treated as a side aspect of the general poverty analysis. Only in recent years have the causes of adult poverty been compared to child poverty. The authors also investigate the use of child soldiers in civil wars, the continuing debate on child labor in developing countries, and the increasing number of AIDS orphans.
