Zusammenfassung:	Human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) was first isolated from CD4 super(+) T cells purified from the peripheral blood of a healthy individual. We examined the prevalence of antibody to HHV-7 by age in sera from 213 children ranging from < 2 months to > 10 years of age. The same sera were further investigated for the prevalence of antibody to HHV-6 and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) for comparison of the ages of primary infection. The sera were taken from hospitalized children for diagnostic investigations. Sera from 29 healthy adults were also tested for antibody to HHV-7.
