Vascular factors and the localization of varicella lesions

An 8-year-old boy had lesions of varicella largely restricted to an area covered by a cast during viremia. Since the lesions of varicella begin as a cutaneous angiitis, local vascular factors may promote interesting distribution patterns of varicella lesions.
