Zusammenfassung:Pitutary apoplexy is a syndrome caused by hemorrhage into a preexisting pituitary tumor (1,2). P The manifestations of pituitary apoplexy range from visual changes to headache, ophthalmoplegia, endocrine failure, and/or decreasing level of consciousness. We present a case of a known preoperative pituitary adenoma in a patient who developed severe pituitary apoplexy necessitating emergency operative decompression soon after coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG).
