Zusammenfassung: | Lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase, E.C. 2.3.1.43, can be either stimulated or inhibited by reducing reagents containing free sulfhydryl groups. Mercaptoethanol and dithiothreitol stimulate enzyme activity while cysteine and reduced glutathione inhibit activity. The oxidizing disulfide reagent 2-pyridine disulfide has minimal effects on enzyme activity by itself but suppresses the stimulatory effect of mercaptoethanol. |
