Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: In describing "A Practice Plan in a Municipal Teaching Hospital" in the January 29 issue,* Schmidt et al. minimized the antagonism between academic and private clinicians that may follow an increase in private practice by salaried faculty in municipal hospitals. Perhaps such a happy atmosphere exists in Baltimore. In St. Paul a decision by St. Paul Ramsey Hospital to enlarge its staff and expand its activity into populations formerly served by private clinicians has soured previously cordial and cooperative professional relations.
