Zusammenfassung:The hydrolysis of human renin substrate by human renin was studied simultaneously in sera of women receiving or not receiving oral contraceptives. The kinetic parameters K m and V m of the Michaelis-Menten equation and the relevant standard errors were estimated by Wilkinson's method for the statistical analysis of kinetic data. Significant differences in the kinetic constants between these two groups were not observed. These studies indicate that the higher velocity in sera from women receiving estrogen is related to the substrate concentration rather than modifying factors or multiple forms of renin substrate.
