Zusammenfassung: | Three different heat-inactivated, phenol-treated, and tissue-culture-adapted vaccines were prepared and tested for immunologic responses when administered to susceptible pigeons. The demonstrated immunologic responses induced by either of the two inactivated-virus vaccines were poor (12-15% survival rate). The living avirulent cell-culture-adapted virus vaccines provided good protection (90-100% survival rates) against challenge inoculation 28 days postinoculation. |
