Zusammenfassung:Saussurea medusa cells were cultured in an internal loop airlift bioreactor with sifter draft tube (ILABSDT). Under optimal culture conditions, which were inoculation size 1.5 g(d.m.)/cubic dm, aeration rate 0.3 cubic dm(air)/cubic dm(medium)/min, and 14 mesh sifter holes, the maximum biomass, syringin concentration and syringin production reached 11.7 g(d.m.)/cubic dm, 17.7 mg/g and 206.6 mg/cubic dm, respectively. Among cell cultures in shake flask, bubble column bioreactor and ILABSDT, ILABSDT had the highest syringin production (12.41 mg/cubic dm/d).
