Zusammenfassung:	Laboratory-scale upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) digesters containing granular sludge adapted to brewery effluent were fed increasing concentrations of artificial coal gasification (CG) waste water in brewery effluent and were effective at purifying this combined waste water up to a CG effluent concentration of 15%. At higher CG waste water concentrations and flow rates, performance declined rapidly.
