Zusammenfassung:Cytochalasin B (CB) quickly distorts the gross morphology of sea urchin petaloid coelomocytes at low (0.1 μg/ml) concentrations and inhibits the cell's ability to morphologically transform to the filopodial form. Neither the ultrastructure nor the biochemical components of these cells are altered during these initial effects. At 10 μg/ml of CB, however, there is evidence of microfilament aggregation into foci after prolonged (30 min) exposure to CB but this is not correlated with a change in cytoskeletal composition or cell morphology.
