Development of technology for the creation of retrospective reference databases of the VINITI RAN for physics and mathematics

The technology used for the creation of a retrospective reference database for physics and mathematics on the basis of the printed journals of the journal of abstracts RZh of the All-Russia Institute of Scientific and Technical Information (VINITI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) from 1953 is described. The specific nature of such a database, which is due to the necessity of mapping complex texts in physics and mathematics, is justified. The design of the database was carried out using the Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database management system. The structure of the database is presented, as well as work related to the filling and operation of the database. A description of the workstations used for a compiling a bibliographies and for the system administrator is briefly presented. This database is one unit of the united complex of the automated database of the VINITI RAS.[PUBLICATION ABSTRACT]
