Zusammenfassung:Compared to its lean litter mate (Fa/--) the Zucker rat (fa/fa) develops obesity without hyperphagia in the first week of lite. It is characterized by adipocyte hypertrophy and higher lipid content in adipose tissue. In vitro utilization as well as in vitro oxidation by diaphragm of palmitic acid was decreased in 1 week old Zucker rat.
