Zusammenfassung: | In a retrospective study, the authors analyzed 350 patients with bronchial carcinoma who were treated surgically by the same team for seven years. This paper discusses modalities of treatment and emphasizes that surgery must be practiced as often as possible and should be followed by radiotherapy in the case of lymph node involvement. Following a discussion of the various parameters studied for this group of patients, both immediate and secondary causes of death are analyzed. The survival of patients who had involvement of the bronchial margin is also discussed. Results at 5 years are identical to those of other investigators. The authors conclude that surgery does not improve results whether it is extensive as a precautionary measure, or whether it is associated with radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. |
