Agnosia in animal and man

Survey of the experimental literature on agnosia reveals that the animal experiments suggest the direction of solution, but by no means solve the psychological problems presented by this syndrome. A program of research is described for the study of human subjects with proved loss of brain substance by the application of somatosensory tests yielding quantitative scores. The objective of the program is a clearer understanding of how somatic sensation and related abilities are altered by central and peripheral lesion. 31 references.
