Zusammenfassung:The successful treatment with chloramphenicol, streptomycin and penicillin in a patient with acute C. diphtheriae bacterial endocarditis is reported. In vitro studies on combined drug sensitivities, as well as the clinical response to chloramphenicol, penicillin, and streptomycin in this case, suggest that combined treatment may be beneficial in such cases.
