Zusammenfassung:The effects of a videotape to prepare children and parents for treatment in a children's psychiatric clinic were studied using 2 groups, each with 21 7-23 yr old boys and their parents. The preparation procedure increased correct expectations about treatment for both children and parents. A high number of incorrect expectations were related to dropping out, and prepared families had fewer cancelled and failed appointments. (3 ref)
