Zusammenfassung: | In a study of teeth involved in anterior maxillary osteotomy procedures, it was interesting to note the close similarity of percentages between the nonresponsive teeth in the mobilized segments and those in the nonmobilized segments. One of the forty-six nonresponsive teeth in the mobilized segments displayed signs of clinical morbidity; tooth color was normal, and no mobility was detected. By far the most frequently nonresponsive teeth were the maxillary cuspids; they comprised twenty-three (50 per cent) of the nonresponsive teeth. The relatively high position of the apices of these teeth and the fact that they occupy the cornerstone position in the mobilized segments make them the most vulnerable to periapical surgical abuse. |
