Zusammenfassung:A review of the literature on renalvein thrombosis and infarction of the kidneys revealed that this condition usually is a complication of diarrhea in newborn infants, that it is extremely rare, and that its exact etiology is unknown. In the case which has been reported, post-mortem examination showed massive thrombosis, including the inferior vena cava, rolandic veins, and renal veins, with bilateral hemorrhagic renal infarction (Fig. 2). Hypertension in these cases is exceedingly rare, but in this case the blood pressure appeared to be elevated.
