Zusammenfassung:The morphologic features of Barrett's esophagus as depicted by scanning electron micrography are compared with those of normal esophageal and normal gastric mucosa. The authors conclude that the shaggy, denuded, irregular configuration of Barrett's esophageal mucosa may render it liable to ulceration, bleeding, stricture, and neoplasm.
