Zusammenfassung: | Low level wind velocity profiles in Bahrain are studied. The variation of these profiles with surface wind speeds, months of the summer season, and time of day are illustrated. The dependence of the wind velocity profiles on surface wind speeds is shown. The wind velocity increases with increasing surface wind speeds. A mean wind speed profile for Bahrain averaged over the entire set of data, consisting of around 1600 observations, has also been developed.
The friction layer thickness, the lower layer of the atmosphere where the wind speed is reduced and directions deflected, variation with different months of the summer season, time of day, and with surface wind speed is presented. The overall average friction layer thickness has been found to be 539 m. |
