Zusammenfassung:The heating furnaces at the 2000 wide-strip mill at the authors' plant are equipped with a complex of local automatic production-process control systems (ASU TP-1). The highest level of the complex utilizes a UVM-305 digital control computer. Three systems may be synthesized within the ASU TP-1 complex: a system to follow the movement of the slabs; collection and processing of the measurement data; mathematical models of the slab-heating process.
