Elastic support keeps gen-set vibration to a minimum

Elastic support of large and small diesel and gas generator sets is critical for protecting buildings and equipment from potentially damaging vibrations and structure-born noise. In many cases, elastic support is what enables the use of specific equipment in a given facility. Designing an effective elastic support system involves more than the selection of an off-the-shelf spring set. Gen-set characteristics must be considered together with foundation constraints and operational concerns to provide an integrated solution. Some of the factors to be considered in selecting proper gen-sets are presented.
