Zusammenfassung: | It is noted that Whitfield and High (1977) introduced an approximate model for the turbulent shear stress distribution into the energy-momentum equation and derived an analytical solution which provides reasonable agreement with experimental observations. In studies by Laderman (1978, 1980) of the effects on an adverse present gradient on a supersonic turbulent boundary layer, it was found that the T bar vs U bar relation is insensitive to the pressure gradient although the shear stress distribution is apparently strongly dependent on beta sub k0. The implications of the Whitfield and High solution are therefore considered to merit further examination. |
