Zusammenfassung: | A key component of wind loading codes of practice is the design wind speed for the site. In the UK this is obtained by modifying a base wind speed by a series of factors that define the exposure of the site. The base wind speed was derived from observations of extremes at 50 anemograph sites, assuming that the exposure of the each site was uniform by direction. In this paper we use state-of-the-art engineering models to derive exposure corrections for these sites, and use the corrected data to revise the base wind speed map for the UK. |
