Zusammenfassung:	The crystal and molecular structure of solid-state octa-O-acetyl-L-threo-L-galacto-decitol was determined by X-ray crystallography. The structure was solved by direct methods. All heavy atoms were refined and hydrogens were introduced at calculated positions. The final fractional coordinates of C and O atoms, together with equivalent isotropic thermal parameters, are listed.
