Zusammenfassung:A finite-difference scheme is described for the numerical solution of plane-parallel and axially symmetric problems of heat transfer with a free boundary moving within concentrated thermal capacities. The relevant existence and uniqueness theorems are proved in Fasano, Primicerio & Rubinstein (1980) and Rubinstein (1980). Numerical illustrations are offered.
