Temperature oscillations during the high-pressure partial oxidation of methane in a tubular flow reactor

Zusammenfassung: | During the study of the homogeneous high-pressure plug flow partial oxidation of methane to methanol, it was shown that temperature oscillations occurred in the reactor at O sub(2) concentrations greater than 3%. Temperature oscillations in combustion reactions have been reviewed. Though many reports have appeared describing temperature oscillations and cool-flame phenomena, few have been concerned with ethane, and only two were reported for methane. The research reported here clearly shows the occurrence of uniform temperature oscillation in a high-pressure plug flow reactor. |
