Zusammenfassung:A study has been made on the characteristics of the transport of fuel particles in air flow through straight pipes and bend pipes. A numerical caluculation for such bend pipe flow was computed. The behavior of moving particles was also investigated experimentally, using a nozzle which can inject uniform size liquid droplets continuously. And the amount of fuel impaction on the wall of pipes under different operating conditions was measured. A particles generator was used to general fuel droplets of about 40100 microns mean diameter for the laboratory flow system. Effects of droplet size, pipe geometry and air velocity on the fuel impaction on the wall were investigated. The droplet impaction in the pipe flow can be minimized by ultrafine atomization, minimum passage turning angle and air velocity.
