Behavior of High-Strength Concrete Under Torsional Triaxial Compression

Zusammenfassung: | Sixty-four cylinders (3 x 9 in. (76.2 x 228.6 mm)) using high-strength concrete were tested under uniaxial compression, shear, cylindrical triaxial compression with low lateral stresses, and torsional cylindrical triaxial compression loadings to determine strength and behavior of concrete under these loading paths. Comparison between the results of this study under cylindrical triaxial compression with low lateral stresses for high-strength and those of other studies for normal-strength concrete reveals that normal strength concrete exhibits a relatively flatter postpeak behavior. |
