Zusammenfassung: | Carbon materials in the form of braids for medical purposes are examined. The mechanical and chemical properties of two types of carbon braids destined for sutures (6 × 300) and prostheses for ligaments and tendons (17 × 1800) are determined. By chemical treatment of carbon fibres their chemical and physical properties have been modified. The mechanical and chemical properties of carbon braids after such treatment are described. Strain-time relationships for carbon prostheses are analyzed to determine the failure-free value of static force. Changes of breaking force of carbon braids in isotonic solution as a function of time are determined. New Zealand rabbits are used in the biological experiments. Morphological description of tissue surrounding and growing into carbon implants in the form of carbon fibres bundles is made. |
