Zusammenfassung:The partial pressure of dissolved hydrogen was measured by a dissolved hydrogen sensor constructed by modifying a Clark-type dissolved oxygen probe. Using this sensor, the overall volumetric coefficient of hydrogen mass transfer, ( K L a) H 2, was determined in the culture system and compared with that of oxygen, ( K L a) O 2 biol. . Good straight line relationships were demonstrated between (1) In( K L a) O 2 biol. and In( K L a) O 2 sul. ( K L a for oxygen determined by sulphite oxidation) and (ii) In( K L a) O 2 biol. and In( K L a) H 2.
