Zusammenfassung:In this work a spectroscopic method to measure the degradation degree of paraffinic mineral oils is proposed. The behaviour of some molecules (indoles) in solution versus their surrounding environment (solvent polarity and viscosity) is the basis of the method. Experimental results obtained for VESTAN oil, confirming this theoretical scheme, are presented.
