Coping With Moral Problems of Adolescents in Foster Care

Since a major task of foster parents is helping the adolescent in his moral development, influences upon the adolescent's moral development, both personal (intellectual development, self-concept, & personality) & social (parents & peers) are discussed. General positive parental attitudes & basic guidance techniques are delineated, including frequency of morality discussions, modeling, parental expectations, & communication techniques. Finally, the foster parents' own feelings are considered. All serve as a guideline for assisting foster parents in handling a very crucial aspect of foster-parenting an adolescent. AA.
