Punching Shear Strength of Composite Construction

The type of composite construction examined in this paper consists of an inner and outer steel skin with the annulus between the skins filled with concrete. An experimental program was conducted on 32 composite shells. All the shells were subjected to an increasing concentrated load applied to the top surface at the midspan. The results of these tests are presented and discussed, and a comparison is made between the code methods for predicting the punching shear strength of reinforced concrete slabs and the results obtained from this study.
