The effect of leg protecting fairings on the overall motion of a motorcycle in a glancing impact

Simple two-dimensional simulations are made of the whole body motion of motorcycles involved in glancing impacts with a flat, rigid barrier. Important parameters are identified and the behavior of the simulations is compared with results from full-scale crash tests.
