Zusammenfassung:The radioactivity induced by neutrons in the materials of fusion power plants is a focus of investigations dedicated to safety and environmental assessments of fusion power. The greatest part of the radioactivity is produced by two components of the neutron flux spectrum, by thermal neutrons and by the 14-MeV DT fusion neutrons. The low-activation material SiC and the tritium-generating material Li sub(4)SiO sub(4) were irradiated with 14-MeV neutrons, and the gamma -activity induced was measured several times during the decay. The results were analysed with the European Activation System EASY-99 with respect to short-term and long-term radioactivity. copyright 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
