Zusammenfassung:A pilot installation of the CARE control system has been fully operating in Crete, since May 1999 with the Public Power Corporation. In this paper, the hardware and operating software requirements are described and the initial evaluation results are presented. Although the time of evaluation is still very short, satisfactory forecasting results, clear economic gains and timely warning of occuring frequency excursions are noted.
