Zusammenfassung:Low temperature (80–150K) nitrogen gas flow in rectangular ducts with very small aspect ratio (0.013–0.0475) was investigated experimentally. Potential applications for such channels include cooling of high T c superconductors, electronic circuits, ultra-small heat exchangers and reactors for modification and separation of biological cells. A sequence of experiments had been carried out to determine the friction law which governs gas flow in small rectangular duct. The experimental friction factors were greater than the predictions for large flow ducts and approached the predictions for micro flow ducts.
