Zusammenfassung:Human leukocyte antigen (HLA) analysis would be a useful tool to trace the origin of modern humans. In this study, we provided the first four digital HLA‐A, ‐B, ‐C and ‐DRB1 allele and haplotype data in the Dai ethnic population, which is a unique and representative Kam‐Tai‐speaking ethnic minority living in the Yunnan province of Southwestern China. Our results showed that the Dai population has unique HLA characteristic that are most closely related to the Southeastern Asia group and similar to the Kam‐Tai speaking populations in China and Thailand.
