Zusammenfassung: | A 27-year-old man had macroscopic haematuria following a blow to the right side of the abdomen. Intravenous pyelography showed narrowing and lateralisation of the right renal pelvis and suggested rupture and fragmentation of the right kidney. Surgical exploration, however, revealed massive hydronephrosis in a supernumerary kidney. The haemorrhage had been caused by rupture of the pelvis. Diagnostic considerations are discussed and the surgical procedure is described. Correct pre-operative evaluation was exceedingly difficult in this case. Only two similar cases were found in the literature. |
