Zusammenfassung:Selected lipid and lipoprotein data from the Lipid Research Clinics (LRC) Prevalence Study are presented, with particular emphasis given to high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) values. Cross‐sectional age‐and sex‐specific mean values are shown for 7007 white participants in the ten North American LRCs. Comparisons are drawn for males and females (including the pediatric group) and for females using or not using sex hormones. The US‐USSR Collaborative Program is summarized, and selected comparisons are noted for the Soviet and United States samples.
