Zusammenfassung:Both the MMPI Panic-Fear scale (personality trait) and the ASC Panic-Fear symptom category (situational, state response to breathing difficulties) have shown important relationships to various medical outcome measures in chronic asthma. This paper furthers previous findings by investigating Panic-Fear state-trait relationships in terms of rehospitalization of asthmatics following intensive long-term treatment. Results indicate that the two measures of Panic-Fear interact in predicting important differences in rehospitalization rates.
