Zusammenfassung: | This study explores the use of nano-sized materials for the removal of bacteria in water. Silver nanoparticles immobilized onto carbon nanotube and cyclodextrin polymers were synthesized in our laboratories and the resultant polymers were characterized by various techniques such as BET, TEM, SEM, EDX and then tested for their efficacy at removing pathogenic bacteria from environmental water samples these environmental water samples were collected from surface and ground water sources where E.coli and V. cholerae were isolated from the environmental samples in relatively high numbers. These samples were subjected to synthesized polymers and a reduction in bacterial colony forming units was observed. |
