Analyzing the Statistical Significance of Chinese Collocations： A Perspective of Statistical Calculation

Concerning the statistical significance of collocation, three stages are demarcated, viz, KWIC（key words in context） period, MI and T-testing period, and Word Sketch originated recently. Based on subtle analyses of the 3 afore-mentioned ways of collocation calculating, the present paper argues that the calculations, emphasizing the formal syntactic structure, don＇t correspond with Chinese in itself. The semantic structure of Chinese must be profiled so as to diminish the configuration ambiguity in the collocation analyses in corpus.
