Detection of a neutrino signal from SN 1987A on February 23, 1987 at 7:35 UT: Data from the Baksan Underground Scintillation Telescope

The signal detected by the Baksan Underground Scintillation Telescope comprises five events over a period of 9.1 s. Data from all detectors (Kamiokande II, IMB, Baksan, and LSD) are used to estimate the energy carried away from the stellar core in the form of electron antineutrinos.
